One of the highlights at the Blechexpo is undoubtedly our corner forming tool UKB-System "Corner Former" for the production of drip trays without additional welding and grinding effort.

The challenge in this project was to form the edges of a drip tray made of 1.4301 (t=0.8mm) in such a way that they are 100% tight without any further reworking on the finished product.

So far, the blanks have been laser-cut and the edges bent upwards to seal them with a weld seam in a second step. This weld seam then had to be polished. Thanks to our new special solution, these steps are now no longer necessary.

We have divided the individual forming steps into four stations, which can be carried out in parallel on a press brake as a bending station.

First, the blank is pre-bent in stations one and two. Here, it is important to create the desired contour already in the die in order to form the corner in one stroke in the third step with the help of our roller technology. The excess material is then trimmed horizontally to workpiece height on the fourth station and the scrap piece is ejected from the tool with compressed air.

We are also exhibiting our "Corner Former" live at the exhibition.
We look forward to talking to you and convincing you of the advantages of UKB.
